Silk Garment Care PDF Print E-mail

Silk is a delicate type of material that is usually best cleaned by dry cleaning. Sizings used in silk can disolve in water leaving some silk garments with a limp appearance when washed.

Never, EVER rub a spot or a stain on a silk garment. Silk is even more delecate when it is wet or soiled. Rubbing action, however gentle, can cause individual fibers to break, and cause those 'white' chaffed areas on your favorite blouse or tie.

Play it safe, and BLOT any spills. Then bring it to us as soon as possible Time is especially important if the stain contains any type of food oil or grease. Such stains can oxidize in a matter of days making them impossible to remove.
